Double disc grinding is an extremely efficient grinding process which uses abrasive wheels that oppose one another and simultaneously grind and remove equal amounts of stock from both sides of a blank. The end result is a flat machine-ready blank with parallel tolerances to 001. This efficient process substantially reduces pre-machining costs up to 50%!

There are also other benefits that double-disc grinding provides. These benefits include a reduction of internal stress in many metals because the tandem motion produced by this grinding process removes equal amounts of stock from both sides of a blank, thus reducing stress. With reduced stress, the stability of a machine-ready blank is improved for additional machining phases.
